World’s First Bluegrass Major
I ran across this article in the East Tennessee press this week written by Marion Stiles for the East Tennessean Newspaper.
The East Tennessee University already has a reputation for teaching bluegrass music. However, it now seems that the university is taking its course to the next phase in delivering the first ever bachelor of arts in bluegrass, old time and country music qualification.
The directors of the university’s bluegrass, old time and country music program are aiming to deliver an extensive education program for students beyond what the existing bluegrass minor – established in 2005 – offers. The program now has around 500 students are enrolled in it
