Mountain Pickers’ Association has announced that this month’s featured artist is Appalachian Heaven. The Appalachian Heaven Stringband is highly regarded for its tight arrangement of tunes and songs from the southern Appalachian USA mountains.
The string band ensemble is the precursor to bluegrass and generally features guitar, fiddle, banjo and vocal harmonies evolved from the Celtic fiddle traditions of the Scotch-Irish settlers of the Appalachian Mounting of North America.
Appalachian Heaven has now expanded to be a 5 piece band, adding more layers to that old-time sound. They deliver sensitive and driving fiddle tunes, dance tunes with curly toes, to cheeky songs and disarmingly touching ballads, Appalachian Heaven Stringband delight audiences young and young-at-heart.
Also playing this month is Slim Dime, Lonesome Still and Colin Weight.
