With just one week to go this festival is now in its seventh year.
They have a very solid line-up of Bluegrass, Old Timey and Folk performers attending.
The headline Bluegrass act, Bluegrass Parkway, are making the trip across a day earlier to perform in Dorrigo’s Old Gazette Theatre on the Thursday night 23rd, where they will perform their 1945 Radio Show live in the theatre and should be a great night. The band will also be featuring in the Main Concerts and will be giving Workshops throughout the weekend.
Karen Lynne & Acoustic Shock will also feature at the festival and will be presenting a slightly new line-up with the addition of a fiddler.
Heather Mandich & Southern Alliance travel up from south of Sydney — a relatively new and very solid Bluegrass band featuring Heather’s very strong vocals.
Very new to the scene will be Twisted Oak. Some may have seen and heard these young players around the sessions. Look forward to seeing them perform as a band over the weekend.
The Dorrigo website reports that ‘one of the nice things about our Festival is the opportunity to get to know and chat with our performers — even join them in one of the many jam sessions‘.
There will be Workshops aplenty for all and some special concerts just for the kids and young at heart.
