Aria Chart Debut
After another highly successful Tamworth Festival, the Davidson Brothers make their debut on the ARIA charts at #12 on the Australian Artist Country Chart (28-Jan-08) with the release of their new Self-Titled Album on Shock records.
The brothers saw fantastic sales in the first week of release of the new album which came out during the 2008 Tamworth Country Music festival. The album also charted at #20 on the ARIA International Country chart, as well as #51 on the Mainstream sales charts for NSW.
The Davidson Brothers hosted the bluegrass breakfast shows for the second year running at the West Tamworth Leagues Club. They played 11 mornings straight, playing to a capacity crowd each day, along with having many specical guests, including Troy Cassar-Daley.
They came home with two Golden Fiddle Awards, Best Band for their live band, which includes Peter Cooper (Guitar) & Andy Toombs (Bass/Vocals) as well as winning Best Composition for the boys self-penned instrumental Tipsy Gypsy from the new album.
Another highlight was when Lachlan walked away as the 2008 Australian Bluegrass Mandolin Champion. It’s such a thrill, as it’s a title I have dreamt of winning since our first time in Tamworth, 11 years ago Lachlan explains.
