September 2011 will mark their 30th Anniversary

Lonesome River Band are certainly one of the most respected names in bluegrass music, The band is lead by award-winning banjo player, Sammy Shelor, who has put together a wealth of talent that features: Brandon Rickman on lead vocals and rhythm guitar; Mike Hartgrove on fiddle; Barry Reed on bass; and the band’s latest addition, Randy Jones on mandolin and vocals.

Rural Rhythm Records released the band’s new album, Still Learning, in June last year. That album has hit several charts including Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine’s Top 15, Bluegrass Music Profiles Top 10, Cashbox Magazine’s Top 20. The first single, “Record Time Machine” along with “Jack Up the Jail” and other tracks are appearing on numerous single charts including Bluegrass Unlimited’s Top 30 Song chart.

The Lonesome River Band has been nominated for the 2011 Carolina Music Awards in the Country/Bluegrass/ Americana Group category.
