2024 Wirrina Bluegrass Festival – 19th 21st November.
Here are some important details for you, as well as some interesting happenings. The festival program will be available on Facebook and the website as soon as details are finalised.
Friday night Acoustic Roots concert kicks off with excellent original music from Sue Baker & the Sourdoughs, features Jonathan Ashley, The Good Questions, Sally Carter, Inkling Trio, The Escape Pods and Nokosee Fields & Ryan Nickerson, the guest artists from Louisiana wind up the night.
This year Lasseter’s Gold will run a Shearing Shed Dance on Saturday 22nd. All dances are called, so you don’t need to know the steps. Great for any age and most levels of fitness.
And once again, the Whiskey Communion is part of Sunday’s festival program, lovingly prepared and presented by Reverend & Mrs Rowdy and a variety of their friends.

2024 Wirrina Bluegrass Festival Music Camp:
Last call for 3 Day Music camp – if you’ve been sitting on the fence but want to attend, please jump in and book tickets now. Last minute arrivals cannot be guaranteed a place.
Workshop tutors love to share what they know, and organisers believe you will get a lot out of coming along and dedicating 3 days to improving your own music skills (as well as getting to enjoy some extra days on site before the festival). There are currently vacancies in classes for fiddle, mandolin, guitar, bass, banjo and ukulele. Family groups are welcome – please contact organisers if you’d like to enquire about a family group booking.

2024 Wirrina Bluegrass Festival Workshops:
Workshops & Sessions at the festival weekend this year include 1 hour workshops in Harmonica, Clawhammer Banjo and Travis picking guitar technique, Scheduled led sessions include fiddle tunes, Shanty singing and Bluegrass sessions. Full list will be on line very soon.
And a reminder – the second Wirrina Young Musicians’ Contest for under-18s takes place at the festival on Saturday Nov 23rd. There are cash prizes on offer, owing to a grant sourced by Crooked Road band, and the winner(s) will play on the festival stage on Saturday afternoon. Please spread the word among those who know or teach young musicians in stringed instruments or singing. More information below, or contact organisers with any questions.
