Illawarra Folk Festival set for Fri 19th to Sunday 21st January 2024.

The 37th Illawarra Folk Festival is to held at the Bulli Showground (10km north of Wollongong, NSW) from 4pm Friday 19th January 2024 to Sunday evening 21st January 2024.

2024 Illawarra Folk Festival Overview:
  • Friday – Folk School at the Bulli Uniting Church. 24 sessions from 9am to 5pm.
  • Friday – Concerts and performances start at 4pm and continue till late
  • Saturday / Sunday – From 8am until late
  • 6 Venues – Slacky Flat Bar (main concert space), Global Green (marquee), Grandstand Bar, Grandstand Restaurant, Tivoli on Track (dance venue), Folk Grand
  • 75+ international, national and local acts including musicians, dancers, poets, street musicians

The festival gets into full swing from Friday evening to Sunday evening in 6 venues, all at the Bulli Showground. We are looking for around 80 acts.

Artist applications are open and will close 16 June 2023.

As a core Team Leader volunteer you would be committing to:

  • Attending Organising Committee Meetings (monthly from July)
  • Getting involved in pre festival planning, decisions and direction of the festival
  • Managing a team of volunteers (including rostering, training, supervising and evaluating)
  • Supporting your volunteers during the festival
  • Providing post festival reporting and wrap up comments and suggestions.
