I think this song captures the essence of having distance between you and whatever it is that your thoughts hold. This melody definitely lives in the feel good side of that distance. Every one of us felt it while this track was being recorded – Shawn Lane.

The new single was co-written by both Lane and Bennett. Its lyrics touch on a relationship gone astray, with the result ending with both individuals being 1000 miles apart from each other. Together, they have a combined five Grammy nominations while also penning multiple No. 1 hits between the two of them. Years of inspiration and friendship are the driving force behind the new music. 1000 Miles follows the lead single Grey Wind, which offered a first glimpse into what music enthusiasts can expect to come.

Prior to releasing music together, both Shawn Lane and Richard Bennett have both carved out their own paths in the Bluegrass, American and Roots genres. Lane is well-known for his time as a founding member of the award-winning band Blue Highway, where he has won an unprecedented 28 IBMA Awards. Over the years he’s also shared the stage with the likes of music legends Ricky Skaggs and Doyle Lawson.
