A week or so ago, my friends from New Hampshire in the USA, Ted Lemann and his wife Irene had the pleasure of spending five days with Darin and Brooke Aldridge learning about them and following this hard working and rising young bluegrass band. Ted has written a great article on his blog which shares some of that journey.

Our mate Ted Lehmann, has posted up a couple of articles featuring this year’s IBMA Fanfest. Ted’s forte is great story-telling and photography as evidenced by his blog.
Among other things, Ted’s life seems to consist of traveling to bluegrass festivals – which is where I met him - talking photos and writing stories for the Ted Lehmann Blog.

Arguably one of the best wash ups of the 2009 Merlfest event has been delivered by my American mate Ted Lehmann.
Ted tells it like it was and has, without doubt, the most amazing pictorial history of the event. For those of us who have been to a Merlfest, here is a bit of nostalgia to surf over. For those who have never been, here’s what you have missed.

For those familiar with Dennis Jones through his many posts on Bluegrass-L and Bluegrass Rules, a friend of mine from the USA, Ted Lehmann, has had an opportunity to catch up with him at Isothermal Community College this month. Dennis is the technical director at WNCW-FM.
Dennis often characterizes himself as a traditionalist. I also knew that Dennis was technical director at WNCW-FM and folks had told me he was a wonderful person, and that he didn’t get around real well. I had long looked forward to meeting him as well as getting a chance to interview him for this blog. Getting to know Dennis is easy. It will take me years to incorporate what I learned from him, and I surely look forward to the next opportunity I get to exchange views with him. Ted Lehmann – Bluegrass, Books, and Brainstorms

Regular visitors to this blog will know of my ol’ mate Ted Lehmann’s and his Bluegrass, Books and Brainstorms Blog to which I often make reference. The time has come again to point you in the direction of Ted’s blog.
Ted has recently visited Bloomingdale in Georgia and and caught up with guitar maker – master luthier – Randy Wood who runs a repair shop, and retail store. The venue also serves as a jam location on Saturdays and the occasional concert venue on Saturday nights.
Ted’s post, on his visit to Randy Wood’s store, makes for excellent reading and contains some great history and pictures.

Ted Lehman is a special guy whose life seems to be about reading books, travelling to festivals engaging with people and taking photos. The sort of job any bluegrass fan would want.
Fortunately for us Ted does this very well. Last year he brought us an array of pictures from his various destinations which we alerted our readers to. This year’s the same. Ted’s blog currently has an array of photos that once again will put faces to names and… In Ted’s words:
I started out to put together a portfolio of pictures I wanted to call ‘Best of 2008′. As I worked through my photos, I realized there were too many I liked for me to call them the best or to call them anything else.So there’s a collection of pictures that I’m proud of. I know that some of your favorites aren’t here, but these are the ones that particularly appealed to me as I trolled through my files during the last couple of days. I hope you enjoy them
