Innes Campbell is a guitarist with a love of singing, songwriting and playing great music with great musicians.
Innes’s festival appearances in 2009, included Redlands Bluegrass Festival, The Gympie Muster, Dorrigo Bluegrass Festival and more recently the Woodford Festival, where he showcased his virtuoso bluegrass guitar chops, thoughtful songwriting and sense of humour.
Innes is the 2009 National Bluegrass Guitar Champion (Tamworth), and since arriving here in August last year he has hunted down the best bluegrass musicians Brisbane has to offer in Luke Moller (mandolin), George Jackson (fiddle) and Mark Webber (bass).
The Bug features three booked acts along with occasional blackboards each week. 7.30pm every Thursday night at the Muddy Farmer Hotel cnr Ipswich Rd. and Annerley Rd., Annerley. Admission is free – meals are available.

Hailed as salty, seasoned, irreverent the Pirate Brides return to their old stomping ground this week – Thursday 15th Oct.
Their repertoire spans acoustic originals, bluegrass, contemporary folk and old –time. They are seasoned performers combining great four-part vocal harmonies with tasty guitar, accordion, mandolin, clawhammer banjo, autoharp and double bass. Not to be missed.

The exquisite voice of Amanda Gilmour, tasteful accordion by Rose Broe, and John Holmberg’s hot mandolin and clawhammer banjo are Fallen Angels You’ll hear great harmonys, underpinned with some cool fretless bass by Andrew Heath, this tight foursome of veteran performers (they started in nappies) pull together an entertaining and emotionally rich musical set from a diverse repertoire including Amanda’s passionate and cherished originals, folk, swing and bluegrass. Andrew keeps them grounded, Sailor John keeps them tugging at the anchor and Amanda and Rose let them soar.

Brisbane Unplugged Gigs @ Muddy Farmer Hotel in Brisbane is seeking acts for its regular Thursday night gigs. The BUG is located at the Muddy Farmer Hotel on the corner of Annerley & Ipswich Roads in Annerley and kicks off at 7:30pm.

Brisbane’s Madass Folk Club is now held each Thursday night at the Muddy Farmer Hotel in Annerley starting at 8pm – and admission is free.
This Thursday will see the group Quartermoon playing the new venue. They are Alison MacKenzie (mandolin), Gillian Smith (fiddle), John Hockings (banjo, guitar) and Michael Bourne (guitar).
Quartermoon come to you courtesy of ‘The Bramstons’ a large, loose-knit group of kitchen table crooners originally convened by Alan Mackey. There have been sightings of Quartermoon over the last year, at the Redlands Bluegrass Convention and the inaugural Nobby Festival, playing their eclectic collection of Old Timey and New Timey songs. This Thursday night they will play their hearts out for the Madass farewell concert.
The Redlands Bluegrass Boys – Madass Folk Club – Thursday 15th Jan.
The Redlands Bluegrass Boys hail from the Redland Shire just south of Brisbane. Collectively the band can claim about 200 years of music experience.
Together they perform a range of traditional bluegrass songs and instrumentals, demonstrating tight vocal harmonies and driving instrumentals epitomised by the bluegrass style of music. The band features Allen McMonagle on guitar and fiddle, Bill Turner on guitar, Tom Steginga on double bass, Fred Hudson on banjo, and Neil Wills on mandolin.
