The Greencards have announced the departure of fiddler Eamon McLoughlin, who has been a member of the band since its inception in Austin Texas seven years ago. Eamon is leaving to pursue other musical challenges at the end of this year.
We wish Eamon all the very best for his future endeavors and thank him for being a part of the great musical journey over the past seven years - Kym and Carol.
Eamon would like to thank Kym and Carol for this wonderful adventure together, and many more thanks to all of the people who have supported the band — anyone who has come to a show, listened to our music, played the band on the radio, and everyone who took a risk on the band when no-one knew who we were. With all sincerity, thank you very much - Eamon McLoughlan.

I feel that ‘Fascination’ is the theme to this record. We tried different things; we were always looking at being tasteful and interesting, while being conscious about putting our own spin on things. The song itself was one we wrote on the road in the earlier stages of writing for this album and I believe it set the tone for things to follow.

As we head into the fall and winter, things are winding down for The Greencards.
Although we only have a handful of shows remaining this year the band is kept busy with preparations for the spring release of the new album. More on that in the coming weeks.
Next year is already shaping up well with The Greencards invited to play great festivals like Telluride, Georgia Mountain Roots Festival, Ski Jam and Merlefest. We’ll also be cruising the Caribbean, setting sail from Miami FL on February 28th, 2009 with the Cayamo crew on “A Journey Through Song” cruise. This is bound to be a memorable 10 days of music with the likes of Lyle Lovett, Shawn Colvin, Buddy Miller, Patty Griffin, Brandi Carlile, Indigo Girls, Joe Ely, John Hiatt, Miindy Smith and more. I guess you could call it a floating festival.
Check out Cayamo.com if you’re interested in joining us.
