The Dillards was my first album although I had heard Flatt and Scruggs prior. Their "Dillards Live Almost" album is just full of great music and very funny intros. Slicker than deer guts on a door knob...

The first bluegrass album I bought was "Back Porch Bluegrass" by the Dillards. The banjo playing on that record was a revelation and I've been a Doug Dillard fan ever since. What a great musician he was!

The music world sure is losing some of it's heros this year. So glad they've left such great music with us!

Mike does a great job!
A fantastic on air personality and is widely known across the US bluegrass scene. When artists and fans at Bluegrass festivals find out we're from Australia, they often ask if we know 'Mike Kear' :)

And why are we not surprised?!!! Great stuff boys. I remember fondly their first Tiara at Tamworth 2004 ... it was a pretty big deal for Lachie, Hamish, Josh Grundy and me .... Orange Blossom Special for Instrumental of the year on our "Stay All Night Album" we recorded in 2003 ..... Crikey... I just realised that was 9 years ago .... when the 3 boys were still wearing short pants and under parental control!!!
