Redlands – Qld

The 16th Redland’s Bluegrass Conventionwas held on 9th to 11th July 2010.redlands

This years festival featured David Long and his band Midnight From Memphis as the headline act along with a host of local and interstate talent.

This festival is one of Australia’s leading bluegrass festivals and the word from festival goers is that it is without doubt Australia’s friendliest festival.

Organisers of this festival have developed the right mix of activities and opportunities for both performers and the all important audience. This year saw a strong focus on beginning musicians through a number of useful workshops, providing opportunities for beginners to jam together and to learn how to jam in a group.

Redland’s typically offers a good blend of activities for the non-performing musician as well as the performers. Workshops are structured with all skill levels in mind to cater from the rank beginner to intermediate player, utilising the skills and abilities of the more experienced musicians in attendance.

The Redland’s Bluegrass Convention is a must see event in any Bluegrasser’s calendar.
